Travel to Poland

In the spring of this year (2008), Dennis Tuuri, our Executive Director, traveled to Poland to help the budding homeschool movement in this formerly Soviet Bloc country. Dennis was invited to speak at a meeting of the Sobieski Institute, a Polish think tank. He spoke on PEAPAC's political work in Oregon. Oregon's 1985 Homeschool Freedom Law was seen by those in attendance as a positive model for what might be done in Poland, Attendees included the Cabinet member who oversees all educational activities in Poland. This fall, a bill is working its way through the Polish parliament which would very significantly liberalize the home and private school laws in Poland.
