Property and Life

Both Ballot Measures 49 and 50 are about property - land and money. The Bible tells us that man is made from land, the land uses its "mouth" to cry out to God, property includes bond-servants, etc. The point is that we should have a high view of property - it is tightly linked to our very lives. That's why John Locke referred to our God-given rights to "life, liberty and property" which Thomas Jefferson later changed to our inalienable rights to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Our nation's forefathers knew the important link between life, property and happiness. They knew that property, like life or liberty, should only be taken under very tightlyregulated circumstances. The current government rules, regulations and taxation policies are, we believe, an unbiblical usurpation of our property, our lives and our happiness.
